Discover Lithuanian language and culture with the Arqus Plurilingual Module
|
10 Sep 2026Exchange students from Arqus universities currently studying at Vilnius University are invited to join the Arqus Plurilingual Module, a free 5 ECTS online course combining beginner-level Lithuanian language learning with an exploration of multilingualism, language-learning strategies and everyday life in Lithuania.
Running from September 2026 to January 2027, the module offers students the opportunity to learn the basics of Lithuanian while gaining a broader understanding of the social and cultural context in which the language is used. Classes are delivered online via Microsoft Teams, allowing students to take part alongside their regular studies.
Participants will learn Lithuanian at A1 level and explore key concepts related to linguistics and multilingualism. The module also encourages students to reflect on how languages are learned and used in different cultural environments, helping them develop a greater awareness of their own language-learning experiences.
Learning extends beyond the virtual classroom. Students will have opportunities to practise languages in more informal settings, including Arqus online Language Cafés, where they can interact with other students and develop their language skills through communication and exchange.
The module combines scheduled online activities with independent learning and reflection. This flexible approach allows participants to engage with different elements of the programme while continuing with their regular studies at Vilnius University.
The Arqus Plurilingual and Intercultural Hub organises the Arqus Plurilingual Module as part of its activities to promote language learning, multilingualism and intercultural exchange across the Arqus community.
Registration is open until 15 September 2026.
