Join the webinar on enhancing academic practice through SoTL!

On 28 May 2026 at 13:00 CEST, this webinar will build on a literature review of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) conducted by the Centre for Teaching and Learning at Maynooth University as part of the HEA SATLE funded initiative.

The session will be facilitated by Dr Tazila Ramputh & Dr Orla Hanratty from the Centre for Teaching and Learning (Maynooth University). Grounded in international scholarship, it will explore SoTL as a systematic, evidence-informed and publicly shared enquiry into student learning and examine its role in shaping academic practice in higher education.

Structured around key dimensions of the literature: conceptualisation, academic professional growth and institutional engagement, the session will engage with both the opportunities and challenges of SoTL. It will address ongoing debates around definition, recognition and sustainability, while highlighting the value of SoTL for academics in developing deeper understandings of teaching and learning, strengthening scholarly identity and contributing to shared knowledge.
