Arqus will participate in the Open Conference “European Alliances: a hotbed of different approaches to diversity and inclusion” that will take place on 19th October 2023 in Bologna (Italy). The event is organised in the framework of the Una Europa Alliance Staff Week “Embrace Equity, Empower Inclusion”. Arqus and other six Alliances (CIVIS, EuniWell, 4EU+, FORTHEM, UNITA and Unite!) will exchange views on their different approaches and strategies to inclusion.

The Conference is open to the whole university community and to society at large, with the aim of both providing an understanding of the European University Alliances and their values, and encouraging the exchange of visions, insights and practices. Arqus will be represented by Lucia Gennaro (University of Padua), Coordinator, together with Conny Melzer and Chiara Enderle (Leipzig University), of the Arqus Inclusion & Diversity Hub.

The Open Conference will be split into two main sessions, introduced by Raffaella Campaner, Vice-Rector for International Relations (University of Bologna) and by Claudia Peritore, Head of the Higher Education Unit at Erasmus+ National Agency Italy INDIRE. The first session, in the morning, will analyse “visions, strategies and tools on diversity, equity and inclusion”, and will be chaired by Cristina Demaria, Delegate for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (University of Bologna). Arqus will participate in this session.

The second session, in the afternoon, will be dedicated to “education and mobility as a means for empowering diversity, equity and inclusion”. The chair will be Francesca Valente, Una Europa Unit Coordinator for the University of Bologna.

The Conference will take place in person in Bologna (Italy). Places are limited and the deadline for registration is 17th October. It will also be possible to follow the sessions via streaming.

The programme can be downloaded from the page of the event.
