Arqus Green Mobility Days is an initiative that aims to improve the sustainability of international mobility by raising awareness among the Arqus community about topics such as climate change and eco-friendly practices.
The activities implemented by the Arqus Alliance partners within the GMDs operate in two areas. Firstly, they encourage the responsible choice of transport to reach a place of study or work abroad, for example when going on an Erasmus trip. Secondly, they inform and engage exchange students and staff, enabling them to experience their time in an Arqus Alliance city more sustainably.
The GMDs aim to encourage the participation and commitment of Arqus community members in creating a sustainable approach to mobility as part of the Arqus mobility culture, and to promote the design of innovative projects and the dissemination of good practices.
Every year in Spring, around April (International Earth Month), Arqus celebrates Green Mobility Days with a programme of local activities, such as conferences, seminars, games and fairs.
Moreover, a call for ideas and new projects focused on sustainability, called the GMD award, is launched to gather, share and develop good practices and turn them into actual projects.
Other activities are held during key periods throughout the academic year, targeting students and staff in teaching and professional services who are approaching their international mobility experiences.
