Apply to the Portuguese as a foreign language online course at BabeliUM (University of Minho) and enjoy discounts for being an Arqus member

BabeliUM, the Language Center of the School of Arts and Humanities (ELACH) at the University of Minho, offers a wide range of extracurricular language courses. Applications are now open to the “Portuguese as a foreign language” online course that will take place during the upcoming semester.

Course information:

• Format: online
• Duration: from 2 March to 15 May 2026
• Workload: 6 hours per week (60 hours total), consisting of two in-person/online (synchronous) classes and one autonomous working class
• Available levels: A1/A1+, A2/A2+ and B1/B1+
• Schedule:
  • A1/A1+: Mondays – Wednesdays – Fridays from 6 to 8 pm (Western Europe Time, WET)
  • A2/A2+: Tuesdays – Thursdays – Fridays from 6 to 8 pm (WET)
  • B1/B1+: Mondays – Wednesdays – Fridays from 6 to 8 pm (WET)
• Tuition Fees:
  • Internal fee*:  €240
  • External fee:  €300
  • Erasmus:  €100

* Who can enjoy discounts? (internal tuition fee): University of Minho and Arqus’ students, researchers and teaching and non-teaching staff; unemployed applicants; schools belonging to the APPEAL network (teachers and students 16 and older; minors only with authorisation from their parents or guardians); students enrolled in the preparation course for Higher Education Attendance (over 23 years old); Fundo Social Município de Braga members and respective descendants; Fujitsu staff.
