Arqus Open Mobility Agreement (Arqus OMA)

The Arqus Open Mobility Agreement is an overarching framework designed to enable seamless mobility across the Arqus Alliance. It provides a common structure within which all mobility activities—both standard and newly developed formats—are implemented.

Purpose

The main objective of the Open Mobility Agreement is to simplify procedures and increase accessibility to mobility opportunities for students and staff of partner universities. By reducing administrative barriers and broadening participation, the framework supports a more inclusive and flexible approach to international mobility.

Key Features

  • Open to all disciplines
    Mobility opportunities are available across all academic fields and areas of study, except where specific restrictions may apply. For more information, you can contact your university’s International Relations Office.
  • No fixed quotas
    There are no predefined limits on the number of participants, except where specific restrictions may apply. For more information, you can contact your university’s International Relations Office.
  • Inclusive participation
    Open to:
    • Students of all cycles (Bachelor, Master, and PhD)
    • Teaching staff
    • Administrative staff
  • Flexible mobility formats
    The agreement supports:
    • Short-term and long-term mobility
    • Physical mobility
    • Virtual mobility
    • Blended mobility (combining physical and virtual components)
  • Language requirements
    The sending institution is responsible for ensuring that participants meet the recommended or required language proficiency levels at the start of their study, teaching, or training period.
