The application deadline for the international Arqus micro-credential “Microbial Agents in Bioremediation” has been extended to 20 November 2026 at 12:30 p.m.

This extension provides a new opportunity for students, graduates and professionals interested in biotechnology, microbiology and environmental sciences to join this specialised training programme, which explores the potential of microorganisms and synthetic biology to develop innovative strategies for environmental bioremediation.

The micro-credential takes place from 3 December 2026 to 18 February 2027 and is delivered fully online and in English. Participants can earn 5 ECTS credits upon successful completion of the programme.

The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications in areas such as microbial degradation of pollutants, microbial adaptation, nutrient cycles, synthetic biology and genetic engineering techniques, including CRISPR-Cas. It also addresses biosafety, as well as the ethical and regulatory aspects associated with the use of genetically modified microorganisms in the environment.

The micro-credential is jointly organised by the University of Padua and the University of Wrocław within Arqus, reinforcing its international and multidisciplinary dimension.

The programme is particularly suitable for participants with a background in biology, biotechnology, environmental sciences, engineering, chemistry and related fields, as well as professionals seeking to expand their knowledge of environmental biotechnology and innovative approaches to tackling pollution.

Remember, the new application deadline is 20 November 2026 at 12:30 p.m!
