Project AiRQUS – AI in Language Learning and Teaching Pedagogy

Developed by the “AI and Languages Learning and Teaching” Community of Practice, this project addresses the urgent need for universities to adapt to the evolving role of artificial intelligence in education. Through a series of online training sessions, webinars and workshops, participants will explore innovative AI tools – such as chatbots, text generators, speech recognition and adaptive learning platforms – to enhance foreign language teaching and learning.

Supported by eight partner universities and open to the entire Arqus community, the initiative provides practical skills, expert insights and access to a specialised library of recorded sessions and resources. The project is grounded in real needs and informed by surveys and needs analysis. In addition, it aims to raise the competence of lecturers and students, strengthen international competitiveness and ensure sustainable impact.

By integrating AI into language education, Arqus Universities will foster more engaging, personalised and effective learning experiences in order to prepare students and educators for the challenges of the global digital landscape.
