CBL Programme: Critical Heritage Studies
The Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) Programme in Critical Heritage Studies offers a dynamic series of activities designed to foster cross-university collaboration and deepen understanding of heritage issues.
Programme Highlights
Lecture Series (Winter Term 2025/2026):
The programme launches with a lecture series featuring guest speakers from all Arqus universities, each presenting on topics within Critical Heritage Studies. Lectures will be delivered in a hybrid format, making them accessible to a wider audience.
Alongside the lectures, local events such as roundtables, excursions, and workshops will be organised at participating universities, providing opportunities for in-depth exploration and discussion of the presented themes. These local activities will be coordinated by WG02 members, tailored to each university’s resources and interests.
Open Educational Resources:
All activities will be announced in advance, and where possible, lectures will be recorded and supplemented with reports, interviews, and additional materials. The outcomes will be published as open educational resources, ensuring broad access and ongoing impact.
Spring School in Vilnius (May/June 2025):
The lecture series culminates in a five-day spring school in Vilnius, focusing on “Dissonant Heritage, Contested Landscapes, and European Identity.” The event will bring together 30 master’s students and 10 experts (academics and stakeholders) for workshops, discussions, and excursions, offering immersive learning and networking opportunities.
