The Arqus European University Alliance was presented last week in Algeria during the final conference of the Erasmus+ project “ICMED: International Credit Mobility: a new challenge for the Mediterranean Region“.
Irene Pedreira Romero, the Director of International Projects and Agreements of the University of Granada and member of the Arqus Steering Committee, highlighted the main goals and objectives of the Alliance in the medium and long term, and presented the different Action Lines and the main features of the Arqus work plan 2019-2022. The Alliance was presented as a space for personal and professional development for all, situating people clearly at the centre, and also as a laboratory for institutional learning and an innovative model for deep inter-university cooperation within the European Higher Education Area.
This international event gathered more than 100 representatives from Algerian HEIs, national authorities and representatives of the European Union and the National Erasmus Office in Algeria, and offered a unique opportunity to disseminate Arqus and the European Universities initiative out of the European Union.
