On the occasion of Earth Day, celebrated on 22 April, the University of Minho hosted the Arqus Green Mobility Day, bringing together students and staff for a hands-on initiative promoting sustainability and environmental awareness.

The day began at 10:30 a.m. on the Gualtar campus in Braga (Portugal), where participants gathered by the Prometheus statue before setting off on a plogging activity – combining jogging with litter collection. Along the route to the Rodovia fields, the group worked together to leave the area cleaner than they had found it, highlighting the impact of small, collective actions.

Returning to campus, more than 20 participants took part in a symbolic tree-planting ceremony in the Erasmus Grove, reinforcing their shared commitment to environmental responsibility and the long-term goals of Arqus.

The event concluded with a convivial picnic, during which participants reflected on the day’s activities and wrote down personal messages and commitments towards a more sustainable future.
