Members of the Arqus team (Coordination Office and UGR) recently attended a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) workshop designed for non-medical staff, aimed at providing essential knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively in emergency situations.

The session was led by professionals specialised in first aid and emergency care, giving participants the opportunity to learn how to react quickly and confidently in the event of cardiac arrest, as well as how to correctly use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Throughout the workshop, theoretical explanations were combined with hands-on activities, allowing the team to practise CPR techniques, emergency response procedures and basic life-support actions before professional medical services arrive.

The initiative was organised to mark World Emergency Medicine Day, which seeks to raise awareness about the importance of immediate action in critical situations, encourage people to overcome the fear of intervening during emergencies and promote a better-prepared society.

Outcomes activities related to health and emergency response help strengthen a culture of prevention, safety and mutual care among University of Granada staff members. Training teams with these skills can make a vital difference when saving lives.
