As part of an Arqus Teaching Innovation Fund project, on 21 and 22 May, the University of Granada welcomed Laura Acquasaliente from the University of Padua to the Master’s in Biotechnology programme. The project aims to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions and promote international opportunities for biotechnology students.

During her visit to the Scientific Intrumentation Centre of the University of Granada, Professor Acquasaliente presented the academic and mobility opportunities available at the University of Padua, encouraging students to participate in international exchange programmes and gain valuable intercultural and research experience.

This visit forms part of the Educational Materials for the Curriculum Design of the Master’s Programme in Biotechnology project, a joint initiative between the two universities. The project involves students from the Master’s degree in Biotechnology at the University of Granada and the Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies (PharmBiotec) at the University of Padua. Alongside mobility activities, the project includes seminars on career opportunities in biotechnology companies, professional ethics and bioethics, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. These seminars provide students with a broader perspective on the skills required in today’s biotechnology sector.

Meanwhile, the project team has been developing a series of short educational videos to guide students through the various academic and professional pathways offered by the Master’s in Biotechnology at the University of Granada and the Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies programme at the University of Padua.

By combining international collaboration, innovative educational materials and training in key transversal competencies, the initiative prepares future biotechnology professionals to address the scientific, ethical and societal challenges of this rapidly evolving field.
