18 Oct 2024Arqus is delighted to wish all Arqus communities a very happy Arqus Day 2024!
18 October marks a key date in our calendars. We celebrate the birth of the Alliance back in 2018. Six years of progress, collaboration, achievements and motivation to keep building bridges towards a shared future for our nine university members.
Today is the perfect opportunity to get together locally and promote the activities and opportunities of the Alliance, and that is exactly what our universities will be doing! Read on and find out!
The University of Granada celebrates Arqus Day by highlighting the transformative role of the Alliance in enriching the educational and life experiences of UGR students. A comprehensive press release has been prepared detailing the key initiatives launched over the past year that have had a significant impact on the student community. Notable initiatives include the Arqus Twinning 2.0 activities, the Arqus Student Ambassadors Programme and the Summer Language Schools. In addition, innovative student co-designed projects, participation in ground-breaking programmes such as BIPs and mobility opportunities for entrepreneurs to incubators at other Arqus universities underline the Alliance’s commitment to fostering collaboration among UGR and their peers in other Arqus universities
The University of Graz hosted the Uni Graz International Days this week, coinciding with Erasmus Days too. As part of this, an Arqus stand was available to talk to students and inform them about all the opportunities Arqus has to offer. A dart game and some goodies to give out made the experience more fun!
Leipzig University is planning to promote the date on its International Instagram account. Stay tuned!
The University of Lyon 1 is organising an event today as part of Erasmus Days at the La Doua campus. The event will focus on promoting the Arqus cities and the international opportunities they offer, aiming to engage students through informational and interactive activities. The Lyon 1 Arqus team will be present to answer questions and provide information about Arqus opportunities. The event will feature exhibition panels set up in a fair-like format, allowing students to explore different booths dedicated to the cities involved in the Arqus Alliance. Goodies and flyers will be distributed. Additionally, the darts game with the Arqus map will be available throughout the morning.
The University of Minho will place a banner on the UMinho homepage and announce the date on social media. They are also planning to send out a newsletter summarising last year’s activities.
The University of Padua is organising a local meeting with students, professors and staff involved in Arqus. The event will be divided in three moments: a workshop, reserved for the Working Groups representatives and the representatives of Arqus in each UNIPD Department, to reflect on the development of Arqus activities for the next two years. During the 2 hours long workshop sessions, participants will be divided into 4 groups, each working on one topic: community engagement, teaching, research and mobility. The groups will have one hour to discuss their topic and then will present their conclusions to the other groups. The second moment will involve a plenary session open to the whole local Arqus Community. The plenary will start with a short presentation of what was done in the first two years of this second term, followed by a session called “Arqus voices” with the testimonials of Yasmine Barros (Arqus Ambassador), Alberto Arletti (Arqus Student Co-designed projects), prof. Paolo Carletti (Teaching Innovation Working Group members and Summer School on Teaching Innovation) and Stefania Coppo (professional staff working in the Linking Local Ecosystems Working Group), sharing their experience participating in Arqus activities. The session will finish with a Q&A session. The third moment of the meeting is dedicated to networking and community building around some refreshments. If you are in Padua today, this is a great occasion to come over and get to know the Alliance much deeper!
The University of Wrocław will also publish a summary of the key activities of the year on its website and social media.
Today is certainly a day to celebrate and be proud of what we have achieved. A breath of fresh air to continue working together to transform European higher education.
Happy Arqus Day 2024!
