Vice-Presidents of Université de Lyon 1 visit UMinho

On the 29th and 30th of January, the University of Minho (UMinho) hosted a delegation from the Presidency of the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 with the aim of finding new opportunities to expand mutual collaborations in the framework of the Arqus Alliance.

Anne Giroir-Fendler, Vice-President for International Mobility at the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, and Cristina Vieira, Vice-President for Research in Biosciences at the Université Lyon 1, were welcomed in Braga by the Vice-Dean for Scientific Projects and Research Management at UMinho, Sandra Paiva, and by the Dean for Student Affairs and Pedagogical Innovation, Manuel João Costa, which is also the Coordinator of Arqus at UMinho.

The schedule included several meetings and visits to the Center for Molecular and Environmental Biology (CBMA) laboratories, the Institute of Science and Innovation for Biosustainability (IB-S), the School of Sciences (ECUM) and the Rectorate, among other places. Today, 31st January, Cristina Vieira is holding the seminar “Invasive species and the dark side of the genome”, at the MICA auditorium of Gualtar campus.
