The Arqus Joint Master’s Programme in European Studies has officially started into its 4th edition. On 1 October 2026, all 70 newly admitted students met online for a joint welcome session marking the start of the academic year.

This unique two‑year Joint Master’s is offered collaboratively by the University of Granada, the University of Graz, Leipzig University, and Vilnius University. It combines joint online teaching, physical and virtual mobility, and local specialisation tracks across the four institutions. Focusing on Europe as a global actor, the students will explore how Europeanisation and globalisation interact and how European societies responds to political, social, economic, and legal challenges in an interconnected world.

With its interdisciplinary approach and collaborative teaching formats, the programme continues to serve as a flagship example of innovative, transnational higher education in Europe. The new cohort now embarks on a two‑year journey that combines academic excellence, international experience, and cross‑university cooperation.

We wish all students a successful start into the 2026/27 academic year and an inspiring path through Europe’s first Arqus Joint Master’s Programme!
