Successful FOREU4ALL workshop in Granada focuses on impact and project management
|
28 Apr 2026Arqus and the University of Granada hosted on 16 and 17 April 2026 the second FOREU4ALL transversal workshop on impact and project management, bringing together representatives from European university alliances to exchange knowledge, share practices, and strengthen cooperation within the European Universities Initiative.
The workshop provided a space for dialogue on shared challenges and approaches to impact and project management, while also fostering connections across alliances. Beyond the thematic sessions, the event stood out for its strong sense of community and shared purpose.

As Gloria Nunes, Co-Chair of the FOREU4ALL Impact Topical Group, highlighted:
“Behind impact, there are people willing to collaborate, share and build something bigger than their own institutions. The Granada workshop reminded us that when that mindset is in place, transformation stops being an ambition and becomes reality.”
Similarly, Jonas Salz, Chair of the FOREU4ALL Project Management Topical Group, emphasised:
“Throughout this workshop, it became clear that it is time for European Universities Alliances to move beyond project logic and performance reviews. The tools discussed aim to address these limitations and, we hope, will foster further collaboration.”
Dorothy Kelly, Arqus coordinator, also underlined the importance of trust and collaboration among professionals:
“The European Universities Initiative is proving to have a substantial impact on higher education in many different ways; we should always remember this when it is time to collect data and powerful stories. Over these two days, we have worked on challenges and tools to make impact assessment easier and more effective, but what stands out most for me is not only the quality of ideas exchanged, but the fantastic spirit of trust, collaboration, and generosity that defines this community.”
This workshop confirmed the key role of alliances such as Arqus in advancing cooperation and driving transformation in European higher education.
Three Flickr photo albums (one per day) are now available to revisit key moments from the workshop:
