As part of the celebrations for European Doctoral Day, Arqus and the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS) at the University of Minho organised a doctoral seminar dedicated to sharing the internationalisation experiences for CECS doctoral students.

The event took place on the afternoon of 14th May, in a hybrid format, and was attended by representatives from the University of Minho, the University of Granada and the University of Padua.

The programme included two roundtable discussions. The first was dedicated to the theme “The experience of CECS PhD students” and featured three CECS PhD students who had the opportunity to undertake mobility placements through Arqus and the Erasmus+ programme: Chisoka Simões, Tânia Pereira and Inês Mendes. The session aimed to share positive experiences and the impact these experiences have on the academic journey of CECS PhD students. It also sought to encourage mobility within PhD programmes.

The second roundtable was entirely dedicated to explaining the opportunities offered by joining the Arqus alliance. Accordingly, the session was titled “Internationalisation opportunities via Arqus”. Attending via Zoom were Pedro Francés Gómez from the University of Granada and Veronica Costa from the University of Padua. In person was Natália Antunes from the University of Minho. All the speakers presented their universities and some of the common mobility programmes: BIP, Twinnings, training weeks, etc.

The Arqus European Doctoral Day at UMinho was attended by over a dozen people and provided an excellent opportunity to share experiences on internationalisation and the opportunities available to anyone interested in participating in mobility programmes within the Arqus alliance.
