Refugee girls: film screening and discussion at the University of Granada.

07 Oct 2025The Arqus Alliance, along with the University of Granada Centre for Development Cooperation Initiatives (CICODE), is organising the film forum University and Refuge: Higher education in the face of the challenge of forced displacement, with the screening of the documentary Refugee Girls.
This activity will take place on Monday, 20 October at 9:30 CEST in the Jordi Alberich conference room at the Faculty of Communication and Documentation on the Cartuja Campus of the University of Granada.
The documentary follows the lives of three young refugee girls in Europe, telling the story of Robina, an Afghan student at La Sapienza University in Rome, and how she and other refugees adapt to university life and their new reality in Italy. It also portrays the stories of Sofiia and Bozhena, two Ukrainian students at the University of Barcelona who continue their education away from Ukraine, showing how, despite the difficult challenges posed by forced migration, these young women face their future with hope.

This activity is open and free of charge to all the members of the Arqus community. No prior registration is required, admission will be granted until full capacity is reached
This event is part of the ad-hoc bottom-up initiative “Arqus: an Alliance supporting Refugees’ right to a Qualified and Unique Study experience”, which aims to organise a day of reflection on refugee students at each Arqus partner university and is funded by the Arqus Innovation Fund.
