29 Apr 2026The Vilnius University (VU) invites doctoral students to apply for the fourth multidisciplinary doctoral summer school, taking place on 15–19 June 2026 at the Botanical Garden of VU (Kairėnai, Vilnius).
This year’s summer school, titled “The Only Constant Is Change: AI in Research, Innovations and Careers”, offers an intensive and forward-looking programme designed to equip doctoral researchers with practical skills and critical insights at the intersection of research, innovations, and artificial intelligence.
Participants will engage in a dynamic, interdisciplinary learning environment combining: AI in research – from engineering systems to applications in unstructured data, innovation and entrepreneurship – transforming research into real-world impact, intellectual property and market thinking for researchers, critical perspectives on AI – including limitations, risks, and responsible use and hands-on workshops and group work, culminating in an Idea Sprint and pitching session.
The programme features contributions from Vilnius University experts as well as international speakers from the Nordic Hub AI University Network.
Set in the unique surroundings of the VU Botanical Garden, the Summer School provides not only academic enrichment but also space for reflection, networking, and informal exchange with fellow doctoral researchers across disciplines.
The Summer School is open to doctoral students from all disciplines at Vilnius University, partner universities within the ARQUS Alliance, and the Nordic Hub AI University Network.
Applicants should be interested in integrating AI into their research practice, exploring innovation pathways, and developing transferable skills relevant to both academic and non-academic careers.
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
