The CIMCYC offers short summer research stays for undergraduate students

During the month of July 2026, the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC) in Granada will host national and international undergraduate talented students with research interests aligned with work carried out at the center. 

CIMCYC offer placements for 9 students from outside the University of Granada who have completed at least 50% of the total credits required for their bachelor’s degree programme, who will receive a scholarship of 1600 €. from the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Granada and the option to apply for a travel allowance from CIMCYC of up to 200 euros for EU citizens (not residing in Spain) and up to 400 euros for non-EU citizens.

Students will be hosted by the following CIMCYC research groups:

In addition to activities specific to each lab, student visitors will participate in several training activities, language exchanges and activities with researchers from other groups at the center, together with social outings such as a group visit to the Alhambra.

They will also facilitate access to university housing at highly competitive prices (rooms pre-booked at MasterHome).

To submit your application, please follow the procedure set out on the website of the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Knowledge Transfer (26.a. Captación de talento en grados universitarios – Segunda Fase). 

The application requires three steps: web form (attaching all the necessary documents), a PDF application as a result of completing the web form and registration of the PDF application. 

Among the required documents, they ask for a motivation letter that explains how your background and future educational goals related to pursuing a research career in academia (e.g., master’s degree, Ph.D.) align with the research lines of the lab or research group in Granada you’d wish to join during your visit. They truly appreciate authentic letters and kindly request that they are not created or polished using Generative AI.

  • The administrative reception of documentation will open from April 30, 2026
  • The application deadline is May 11, 2026*
