The Arqus Hour comes to an end with a session on the opportunities and benefits of being part of the Arqus Alliance
Since January 2022, the University of Minho (UMinho) has been part of the Arqus European University Alliance. Today, from 15:30 CEST, UMinho, located in the center of Braga, North of Portugal, welcomes the Coordinator and the Consortium Manager of Arqus, Dorothy Kelly and Fernando Galán, respectively, to participate in the last session of the Arqus Hour, together with the Rector Rui Vieira de Castro, the Pro-rector Manuel João Manuel Costa, the Project Manager Vanessa Alves and the President of the Academic Association, Duarte Lopes, also the Chair of the Arqus Student Council. This event can be watched live on the Uminho YouTube channel.
This is the sixth and final “Arqus Hour” weekly session, which allowed the community of UMinho to get to know this Alliance better and its perspectives for participation, with coordinators of several Arqus’ Action Lines. The session will focus on the opportunities and benefits of being part of the Arqus Alliance. The previous sessions focused on multiculturalism and multilingualism, on inclusion and diversity, entrepreneurship and regional involvement, student-centered learning, commitment to European citizenship and research & innovation.
After sharing the activities carried out and their results, the speakers answer questions from the public. In the first “Arqus Hour”, Dorothy Kelly and Fernando Galán participated online, showing the importance of this Alliance in valuing European values, democratic culture, academic mobility, fostering partnerships and the future of higher education. All the sessions are available on the YouTube Arqus playlist.
