The Arqus on the Move team launches the Arqus Mobility Observatory (AMO), an initiative designed to contribute to the establishment of a sustainable mobility culture within Arqus.

Arqus strives to build upon the strengths of individual partners and joint mobility activities. The Arqus universities share a strong tradition and extensive experience in student and staff mobility at both European and global levels. Leveraging expertise and existing collaborations, the Alliance embraces the challenge of implementing mobility under the Open Mobility Agreement, promoting physical, blended and virtual mobility and facilitating exchanges in various formats and academic levels.

AMO aims to monitor mobility and facilitate mobility strategies within the Alliance. Its main objectives are presented below:

  • Collect mobility data on an annual basis and compile an annual report highlighting key findings.
  • Define and measure the benefits of mobility within the Arqus Alliance through sound data collection and analysis.
  • Provide information to the Arqus Alliance management bodies to identify strengths and address challenges associated with mobility.
  • Offer recommendations to the Arqus Alliance management bodies based on observed data and analysis, enabling strategic decision-making within the network.
  • Provide mobility data for third parties and support the marketing efforts of the Arqus network.

The Arqus Mobility Observatory will aggregate and analyse collected mobility data to generate reports and insights regarding the tendencies and potential of mobility within the Arqus Alliance, including general mobility data; types of mobility per institution and within the Arqus Alliance, and its dynamics after the start of data collection; gaps and imbalances in types, subject area, and geographical spread among Arqus Alliance (for long-term mobility);  as well as Arqus Alliance response to EU priorities (inclusion, digitalization, green mobility).

Arqus Mobility reports will be prepared annually to inform the Arqus community about the results.
