On 12–14 May, the Botanical Garden of the University of Wrocław hosted representatives of botanical gardens from Vilnius, Granada, Graz, and Padua. During their visit to Wrocław and the Arboretum in Wojsławice, participants had the opportunity to explore plant collections, exchange experiences, and discuss future cooperation in the field of nature conservation.

The meeting was organised within the framework of the Arqus Verde initiative, led by the Botanical Garden of the University of Wrocław. The programme brings together European botanical gardens to collaborate on biodiversity conservation, including through webinars and knowledge exchange among partners. The initiative is also accompanied by a video titled “Arqus Verde connects botanical gardens 2026”, presenting the idea behind the project: Arqus Verde connects botanical gardens 2026.

International cooperation plays a crucial role in the work of botanical gardens. In the face of increasing challenges related to biodiversity loss, the exchange of knowledge, experience, and best practices helps to enhance effectiveness and strengthens joint efforts to protect plant resources for future generations.
