For the second edition of the Green Mobility Days, the University of Lyon 1 is organizing two dedicated days on 25 March and 27 March, merging sustainable development, green mobility and well-being.

The Arqus Green Mobility Days initiative aims to foster and look for new ways to implement green mobility. Arqus universities carry out activities at local level to raise awareness within their academic communities regarding sustainable ways of managing international mobility, whether it comes to choosing a greener means of transport when travelling abroad or reducing the impact of daily habits while living in the hosting cities.

This year, the University of Lyon 1 Arqus team, in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy (Institut des Sciences Pharmaceutiques et Biologiques, ISPB), is hosting the event alongside key partners, including:

  • The university library (BU) and the health department (SSE)
  • A well-being specialist (Un Souffle de Bien-Être)
  • Student associations committed to sustainability, such as AAEPL, la Serre, RESES, GAELIS, BeeSPB and ESN
  • A bike association: La Maison du Vélo
  • Organizations involved in medicine recycling: Tulipe and Cyclamed
  • Associations promoting anti-food waste and sustainable food: Récup & Gamelles and Aremacs

Together, they will offer a variety of engaging activities and workshops designed to promote green mobility, sustainability, and well-being. On Tuesday 25 March the activities will take place on the Rockefeller campus and on Thursday 27 March they will be on La Doua campus.

The programme:

Bike-focused activities:

  • Bicycle stand: Documentation on regulations, cycling lanes, equipment demonstrations, quizzes, and bike test ride
  • Bike theft prevention & registration: Information, prevention tips, and the possibility of engraving a number on the bike frame for official registration
