Professor Roxana Sobrino Triana, from the University of Bergen, presents her recently published book “Cuba: Realidades e imaginarios lingüísticos”, which deals with the beliefs, perceptions and attitudes of Cubans referring to the Spanish Language. These sentiments are, on the one hand, interweaved with linguistic postulates coming from various disciplines, and, on the other, with the historical, political and social context of the more recent Cuban history.

The presentation is part of the “Colloquium on Romance Linguistics” at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz. This colloquium on recent research in Romance linguistics brings together scholars and researchers from the seven Arqus universities and beyond.
