By the end of the course, participants will be able to understand the ethical, sociocultural and clinical foundations of breastfeeding and apply national and international recommendations for its promotion and protection. They will develop knowledge of the biological, psychological and social factors that influence breastfeeding, including a bio-psycho-neuro-endocrine-immunological perspective of lactation.
Participants will also learn to identify the needs of breastfeeding women, apply support and monitoring tools in clinical and community contexts, and develop personalised breastfeeding plans for both routine and complex situations. The course further strengthens communication, empathy and coaching skills, promoting humanised and family-centred care in professional practice.
The evaluation complies with the relevant regulations. Participation in forums and discussions will allow for continuous evaluation, which will be weighed toward the final of the UF. Participants will be asked to present (oral and written) a group project/work.
