It is the largest start-up ecosystem in Poland. According to the “Polish Startups” reports by Start-up Poland Foundation, 28% of Polish startups had their headquarters in Wrocław in 2023 (in 2002 it was 21%).
Wrocław is a city of multiculturalism and innovation in the heart of Europe, only 1 hour’s drive from the Czech Republic and Germany. After the post-socialist transformation in 1989 and the Great Flood that devastated historical parts of the city, Wrocław has transformed into a modern and dynamic city with a wide range of opportunities for developed companies and start-ups from all over the world.
Wrocław is also a city of technology and science with its 10 public universities and several private academic schools. The City of Wrocław and public universities established the Wrocław Technology Park with the Lower Silesian Academic Entrepreneurship Incubator, which was awarded the Best Science Incubator Award in 2013.
Founded in 1702, the University of Wrocław is now one of Poland’s largest universities with more than 25,000 students.
