The AI revolution is reshaping language education. While smart tutoring systems and AI-powered apps and tools open new doors, they also leave many language teachers facing a steep learning curve – often completely on their own, with zero time to test every new tool flooding the market.
This is the moto behind the Community of Practice “AI and Languages Learning and Teaching”, addressed to language teachers across the Arqus Universities. The community was designed to be a safe space to voice our challenges, a dynamic platform to share what actually works in the classroom, and a launchpad for creative, tech-forward teaching. You don not have to navigate the AI wave in isolation. Whether you are looking for expert advice, proven best practices, or just a supportive network of peers who get it, this community is open to you.
Driven by this mission and supported by the Arqus Innovation Fund, this Community of Practice recently hosted a series of online workshops, gathering together over 150 educators from across the Arqus Alliance. All sessions were recorded and are available upon request, allowing fellow educators who could not attend the live sessions to access the insights, learn at their own pace, and benefit from the expertise shared.

This webinar unveiled the results of a comprehensive survey on AI tools in language education, designed and analyzed by our CoP members. Gathering insights from nearly 1,000 students across various Arqus Alliance universities, the session offered a unique, data-driven look at how the next generation actually perceives and uses AI in their language learning journey.
The data was compiled and presented by Dorota Klimek-Jankowska and Tomasz Wysłobocki from the Faculty of Languages, Literatures and Cultures of the University of Wrocław.
