16 Apr 2026Arqus, together with the University of Granada, will host the FOREU4ALL workshop “Aligning project management and impact: A practical and strategic dialogue for European University alliances”, taking place in Granada on 16–17 April. The event will officially begin this Thursday, bringing together around 140 participants from across the European Universities Initiative.
Organised within the FOREU4ALL Community of Practice, the workshop aims to strengthen the connection between project management structures and measurable impact in European university alliances. By fostering collaboration between professionals working in these two areas, the programme seeks to enhance strategic alignment, promote knowledge exchange and contribute to the long-term sustainability of alliances. Although most of the event is taking place in person in Granada, the plenary sessions can be followed via the Arqus YouTube channel.
The opening session on Thursday morning will feature Pedro Mercado Pacheco, Rector of the University of Granada, alongside key representatives of the FOREU4ALL initiative. His participation underlines the institutional commitment of Arqus and the University of Granada to advancing cooperation within the European Universities framework. These key figures from FOREU4ALL will be Glória Nunes Rodrigues, Co-Chair of the FOREU4ALL Impact Topical Group, and Jonas Salz, Chair of the FOREU4ALL Project Management Topical Group, respectively.
Arqus will play an active role throughout the workshop programme, contributing to discussions on communication, impact and strategic development. Dorothy Kelly, Arqus Coordinator, will also be present at the event, further highlighting the Alliance’s strategic engagement in this European forum. In particular, the Alliance will present a poster titled “Arqus Strategic Development Dashboard” during the poster session, showcasing its approach to monitoring progress and supporting data-informed decision-making within the alliance.
Among the contributions to the programme, Marina Fernández-Peña will take part in Session 2: “The power of storytelling – Reporting and communicating our Alliance achievements”. Moreover, the co-leads of the Arqus Development Unit as well as a delegation from the University of Granada will participate in the event.
The two-day programme combines plenary debates, interactive workshops, training sessions and peer-learning activities. Participants will explore shared challenges, exchange best practices and co-create tools to improve coordination and impact across alliances. Interactive formats such as poster sessions and collaborative exercises will further encourage dialogue and cross-alliance learning.
The Granada meeting is the second transversal workshop organised by the FOREU4ALL Community of Practice, designed to bring together stakeholders from across Europe’s higher education landscape and foster innovation within the European Universities Initiative.
