SG4NS 2.0 Professors Training Bootcamp concludes at the University of Minho

01 Oct 2026On 23 September, the Auditorium of the School of Nursing at the University of Minho, in Braga, hosted the final event of the SG4NS 2.0 – Professors Training Bootcamp project. Developed within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme and the Arqus Innovation Fund, the project promoted reflection and the exchange of experiences on pedagogical innovation, teacher training and emotional competence in Health Sciences education.
Under the theme “International Conference on Pedagogical Innovation and Emotional Competence”, the event brought together academics and project partners for a day dedicated to sharing knowledge, experiences and the main outcomes of SG4NS 2.0. The programme opened with a welcome session led by Ana Paula Macedo and Rui Pereira, from the University of Minho, followed by the conference “Pathways for Pedagogical Innovation”, delivered by Manuel João Costa, from CNIPES and UMinho.
The morning continued with a presentation of the SG4NS Pedagogical Project. Lisa Gomes, from the University of Minho, addressed its conceptual foundations and the transition “From Vision to Practice”, while Rui Pereira presented the Arqus Innovation – Professors Training Bootcamp, providing an overview of the work developed within the initiative. In the afternoon, Ana Belén G. Rasco, from UNED, delivered a conference on “Emotional Competence in Health Sciences Students”, bringing the emotional dimension of education and training in the Health Sciences into the discussion.
The final part of the programme was dedicated to feedback from stakeholders involved in the SG4NS 2.0 Professors Training Bootcamp. Natalija Istomina, from Vilnius University, María Cano-Caballero, from the University of Granada, and Lisa Gomes, from the University of Minho, shared their perspectives and experiences related to the project. The event concluded with Rui Pereira, from the University of Minho, presenting the key conclusions of the project, closing a day centred on pedagogical innovation, teacher development and emotional competence in Health Sciences education. The final conference provided an opportunity to reflect on the work developed throughout SG4NS 2.0, while strengthening the exchange of knowledge and educational practices between the institutions and academics involved in the initiative.
Supported by the Arqus Innovation Fund, the project also highlights the role of cooperation within Arqus in creating opportunities for experimentation, knowledge exchange and the development of innovative approaches to teaching and learning across its universities.
